The Lunchbox
I worked on Indian Movie Motion Posters to be set up in/near theaters to serve as a promotional piece for the movie screenings - for example, Friday night movies. The motion posters would run in a loop and be uploaded on social media channels to reach a wider audience. These posters would capture the essence by abstracting and combining the most influential scenes and translating them into stylized graphics, typography, animation, and sound effects/music from the movie itself.
I wanted to capture the essence of a silent, slow, ongoing romance in the shadows of the cacophony of city noises in Mumbai. A typical and ordinary ‘dabbawalla’ system carries more than just a lunchbox back and forth as I explore the depth of an extraordinary relationship, gradually building up between two strangers consumed by loneliness and indifference in the rush of everyday life.
